Unreleased footage of canned PS3 exclusive Eight Days

Announced at Sony's E3 2006 press conference, SCE London's new PlayStation 3 exclusive Eight Days seemed too good to be true. Sporting fluid animation, superb visuals, and a revolutionary cover system, the tech demo displayed at the event was perceived by many to be mere CGI, as opposed to real-time footage.
However, in June this year, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) formally announced that the game had been canceled; with reasons primarily pointing to the game's lack of online functionality.
In September, a tech demo was leaked (provided below), proving that much of the footage shown in '06 was in fact close to the real game. This tech demo featured the main character in an untextured environment, showcasing the animation and cover system.
Furthermore, Eight Days 3D animator Jim Jagger has released a demo reel containing real-time footage of the canceled PS3 exclusive, showing what Eight Days looked like in full motion. Watch the unreleased footage below.

wats with the eye pet??? and the splinter cell animations??? and all the other stuff??? :} but the stuff about the game looks sweet!! lets hope this game gets picked up by someone else and gets finished :)

Why are they cancels so interesting projects like Eight Days and Getaway, and making some stupid "ungames" like "Home"?

the second video is called a demo reel, people put together examples of there best work in video form to get a job at a game studio.
i have one, i'm trying to be a 3d modeller.

???? why would they cancel something like that? Those animations were the best I've ever seen. And it was gonna be an exclusive! I really hope they continue with it's developement cuz that one looks like a system seller to me, screw Online features, Uncharted Didn't have Online features and it still sold over a million

wow, this game looks awesome even untextured. What are Sony playing at?
I really wish I knew what their motives are. As time goes by I'm starting to think that they don't know what they are up to either. :(((((

my only question is those martial arts moves and the stealth moves was all that was going to be in the Eight Days. Man i hope sony open there eyes cause this game is something i have never seen before.

to be honest this is sony all over this gen, they dont have a f***in clue what they are doing. Most of the time online play is lackluster to average at best, and you just have to look to uncharted to what no multiplayer equals... a damn good single player game when made by first party devs. Stupid decision to can i think.

Seriously, they couldn't of cancelled it just because of no online, there is something they aren't telling you. But I mean come on, the animations look ridiculous, make the game now!

@24, they stealth animations were from splinter cell, and the martial arts moves were from tekken. that cop with long hair in the earlier tekkens that had like five different styles....i forget his name. and i have no idea why thay put that stuff in there, or what bugs bunny was all about..

That was really impressive, It looked as if it was going to have co-op online which would have been beastly and the cover system looked better than gears imo (more variety in moves). I want them to start making it again it looks really impressive. Does anyone know what the reason was for cancelling it??

Okay for those that dint understand why this is not just a buch of shots of Eight Days. This is what they call a Demo Reel. It's like a portfolio to show examples of the artist's work and ability to employers.

this was my number one MOST hyped game, then they canceled it....And now i look at this six month old footage and wonder why in the crap they even considered canceling this.......so stupid...

forget online release this game, not all of the next gen games have to have online play! i never heard about this game and by the looks of it, it seem that it was going to be an existing one.I would of gave it a shot, and so other people that what sony need more exclusive badass games like this one
